_JSP2631_Denver Zoo_2017_Julian Starks P

The SIBERIAN TIGER is found primarily in the Sikhote Alin mountain region and the southwest Primorye province in the farthest east regions of Russia. Current population estimates are at 300 Siberian tigers in this region with small pockets of the species in China and North Korea.

POPULATION STATUS ENDANGERED:: The main threats to the survival of the Siberian tiger are poaching and habitat loss from intensive logging and development which have made the species endangered since the 1970s.
